(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 23, 2013 ) Sydney, Australia -- In a recent interview, some of Smarter BathroomsÂ’ award-winning designers reveal the trends they see in the bathroom shower space right now.
When asked how the bathroom shower has taken on greater importance in the contemporary bathroom, Smarter BathroomsÂ’ designers answered with the following:
“The style and look of a bathroom has taken on more importance. In older times, bathrooms and kitchens were not decorative parts of a home. Now, we make them more decorative by adding features such as decorative lighting, tiles, and even wallpaper. I find that more and more clients are renovating for their own aesthetic interests rather than to resell their homes,” said Teresa Kleeman, a designer at Smarter Bathrooms.
Another trend mentioned is that more clients are now taking out the bath part instead of installing them.
“Because we are all so busy in modern life, the ritual of bath soaking has fallen from favor. However, people are now indulging more in their showers, which gives them back some of that ‘me’ time!” explained Russell Henderson, another award-winning designer at Smarter Bathrooms.
When asked on trends in showerheads, the designers replied:
“New technology in showerheads have provided spray patterns that truly provide different showering experiences. Some showerheads are now crossovers between a handset and overhead set. I personally like the Hansgrohe Raindance range with the UNICA rail set,” said Russell Henderson.
“I like to use wall mounted showerheads and also install a hand shower that isn’t on a rail. The look is a lot sleeker than when the showerheads and handrails are combined. The hand showers help you rinse the walls when you clean,” said Teresa Kleeman.
