(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 17, 2013 ) Sydney, Australia -- Mark Lime, a former Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts official in Cleveland, Ohio, was charged guilty yesterday afternoon for $ 8,500 worth of office theft.
According to his indictment, 58-year-old Lime was caught stealing fees attached to bond postings and payments made in cash by bond companies while serving at the Clerk of Courts.
Aside from stealing, he was also charged for tampering with records to cover up his thefts. Lime had been the head of the criminal division at the clerk's office for nine years before getting fired last year right after an investigation was filed against him.
His sentencing is scheduled on September 10. As of the moment, officials say that Lime faces a maximum prison term of 57 years.
Mr. David Polley of Abbott Locksmiths shares, “Keeping your office space secure is a top priority these days. You’re not just protecting it from thieves and criminals – you are also protecting it from potential insider sabotage or spying.”
“One of the most popular requests we get is for installation of master key systems,” he says. “There are certain documents, money, data, and items that some workers should not have access to.”
“What master key systems do is keep employees from coming into areas where they are not supposed to be,” he explains. “The master key system makes it convenient since only one key is assigned to each employee. The key is designed to give a particular employee access to only the areas they are authorized.”
“It also makes your security system more organized since access is granted from the outset, and you don’t have to keep deciding when to give access to whom,” he adds. “It keeps your confidential files, restricted items, and money away from the wrong people.”
