(Australia-NewsWire.Com, September 08, 2013 ) Sydney, Australia -- Mary Saba, who has been dubbed the Costume Queen left work colleagues when she turned up wearing a Little Mermaid outfit and dressed as an Oompa Loompa the next.
The 27 year-old loved fancy dress up so much that she even worked it onto public transport as she dressed as a Mad Scientist and a the 7 Days singer Craig David.
Mary is from Australia, and decided one day that she would wear a different costume every day for an entire year as part of her 26th personal birthday challenge.
"I was another year older and I wanted to do something special," she said. "My family thought I was mad at first, but they know how much I love fancy dress and a challenge."
While her wardrobe is now filled with weird and fun costumes, Mary has not exactly broken the bank while she embarked on the conquest to costumed perfection. She has spent a mere $400 thanks to so many of her outfits being homemade.
She said: "I would make some outfits from plastic or cardboard and I was visiting the local charity shop every weekend."
She also has planned the costumes and themes months in advance, and thanks to family and friends, ideas were able to flow plentifully. It has helped her have plenty of time when it comes to preparing and perfecting the costumes.
"I looked at the special days of the year and coordinated the outfits with those days," she said. "For Star Wars day I dressed up as Princess Leia."
Everything from singers like Amy Winehouse to Pokemon characters, and even the child from The Exorcist have been parodied by Mary as she attempts to finish off 365 costumes.
"My friends call me the Costume Queen," she said.
"I definitely put in the most effort out of my friends when it comes to fancy dress parties."
