(Australia-NewsWire.Com, July 16, 2015 ) Melbourne, Victoria -- Tasajee released their new range of microfiber travel and sports towels to the market in March 2015. Microfiber fabric is made of very fine, blended synthetic materials, and offers many unique properties such as high moisture absorbency and fast-evaporation. However, even assuming good quality microfiber, the fabric's properties can be compromised by improper care and laundering. Therefore, Tasajee has released a page detailing some information on microfiber, including how best to care for and launder the fabric. The page is titled "Microfiber Care & Washing Tips", and it can be found under the FAQ menu on the Tasajee.com website.
Microfiber fabric is delicate in some respects, and therefore a degree of care must be taken by towel owners in order to preserve the full performance of the microfiber over the long-term. For example, a common pitfall is washing or tumble-drying microfiber with other fabrics such as cotton. This can lead to fine lint from foreign fabrics embedding within the microfiber slits, which can impede the microfiber's moisture absorption and cleaning properties. Therefore, microfiber fabrics are best laundered and dried separately from other materials.
Another common pitfall is washing, tumble-drying or ironing microfiber in temperatures above 140°F or 60°C. Microfiber fabric is also heat sensitive and exposure to high temperatures can melt the fine fibers and slits within the fibers, leading to a reduction in the fabric's oil and moisture absorbency and retention, as well as its cleaning ability. Therefore, to avoid any potential problems in this regard, microfiber should be laundered only in cold or warm water, and tumble-drying and ironing are best avoided altogether.
Another issue that can lead to decreased towel effectiveness is the use of fabric softener or self-softening detergents. These softening agents have a tendency to clog up the fine slits within the microfibers, again impeding the absorption and cleaning properties of the fabric. Unlike heat damage however, this impairment is temporary, and the fiber will regain its full absorption once the softening agents are next washed out. Finally, it's best to use liquid detergents with microfiber fabrics as opposed to powder, and refrain from using any bleach or other alkali chemicals.
Tasajee microfiber towels are available on both Amazon.com (USA) and Amazon.ca (Canada).
